Fans were popular throughout the later half of the 19th century and while styles changed over time, lace fans remained a perennial favorite. Our fine lace fan features wood ribs with a layer of mesh and then 1the lace for easier folding and durability.

Ribs measure 10˝ inches long. Fan measures approximately 20 inches across when open. Imported. Matching parasol is also available to complete your look.

Lace fan
It is gorgeous, lots of fabric and lace. It is really sturdy! (Probably is the more sturdy and well made hand fan I own. And trust me, I own a lot of hand fans of any kind, lace and mores.) The only problem is that it is hard to close. But I believe this is completely normal because of the amount of fabric and lace. Plus, it will be awesome if it is too hot outside, gives lots of wind.

Beautiful!
I ordered this particular item for my wedding in June of 2014 along with the Battenberg Lace Parasol in Ivory. The wedding is going to have a Victorian theme and I thought that these two items would be perfect for pictures and practical usage since the wedding will be held outside on Mackinac Island. I love these items so much I fully intend to order these two items in red for my bridesmaids!

It matches the parasol I got from you. A bit difficult to fold back, possibly due to the amount of material. The tassel came off the end.

Lace Fan
I had ordered another fan from another vendor and was quite unhappy with it. It was an ivory Battenberg Lace Fan, but it had orange embroidery all over it. That had not been stated in the description, nor showed in the picture. So, when I found the fan at Historical Emporium, I ordered it and held my breath. The fan arrived very quickly and it is beautiful. It is just ivory lace, exactly like description and picture. Exactly what I wanted. I have bookmarked your site.

beautifully hand crafted fan. Elegant details and delicate lace makes its a great addition to any lady's wardrobe. It fans out wide as to provide an adequate amount of airflow for cooling. I would highly recommend to others.

Lovely
I bought this fan and one other for my mother-in-law to use as part of a garden club floral display and I know she will love them both! This one looks so delicate but when you open it you realize it is not only beautiful but very well made. I'm very pleased with the purchase. I know that Mom will enjoy using and displaying this fan long after she uses it in the garden club display!

Beautiful Fan
This fan is just gorgeous. I've owned a couple in this style before, but never in ivory. The color is soft and subtle enough to go with all but the brightest of whites, as well, though I do also have a white one. When the summer rolls around, I take to carrying one with me everywhere to beat the Oklahoma heat and avoid the need to be rude and ask hosts to turn down the air. The wood is very flexible and strong, and as long as you don't go bending it or stepping on it, it will hold up well for years.

Lovely but not functional
The fan itself is beautiful but the functionality of it is lacking. It is very difficult to open & close. Both hands have to be used in order to accomplish both. I would have returned it had it not been so lovely. I rarely use it which is sad for me. So, in actuality, I have wasted my money. Beki St. Dizier

Excellent quality. Purchased to be used in a wedding for the bridesmaids; was a hit. Matched the ivory parasol beautifully. Aesthetically pleasing and well made. Would purchase again.

Lovely fan ...
... and sturdy! Well made, and very pretty as well. The Battenberg lace is referential to the Victorians, but looks surprising modern and will work with costume and contemporary dress. So many complements!
