Life in the 19th century meant a woman could expect to do plenty of walking. Our practical Cotton Walking Skirt is a must-have garment for the Missus who might find herself strolling several miles to and fro on trips to the schoolhouse, the mercantile or to call on the nearest neighbor.

Fashioned with the female form in mind, our floor-length walking skirt nips in to accentuate the waist with an adjustable button closure at the back in the set in waist. Additional buttons for modesty. Front pleats add roominess over the hips while added fullness compliments the back.

Our walking skirt is unlined and fashioned from 100% cotton for your complete comfort. Dry clean or machine wash cold and hang dry. Imported. Available in sizes XS - 3X. This skirt is full length: approximately 41 inches long for size small and 43 inches long for size 2X.

Our Walking Skirt is available in several colors and patterns.

Dream Skirt
This is a lovely piece! It was such a joy to try on for the first time. The navy is just the shade I had hoped for and those buttons in the back are a great touch. :) As a tall lady (5'7'') with a 29'' waist, I thought I was taking a chance by ordering a small. However, the length and fit are great! This skirt pairs nicely with my new Victorian Boots as well, they give me the bit of extra height needed to keep the hem off of the ground. I like this so much that I will be getting one in another color...

Walking Skirt
I recently purchased the Navy Cotton Twill Walking Skirt & I LOVE it. The fit is just right for me even without wearing a corset. I am slowly transitioning into 19th C clothing on a full time basis & being a woman who wears a 2x makes it difficult. But you have made it easier & I received my order much quicker than I thought I would. Thank you :)

Twill Walking Skirt
I absolutely love this skirt. It is made very well and I received many compliments on it. It fit perfect in length, just a little loose in the waist but I had layers on so it was perfect! I will definitely be buying more in the future!

Was happy to finally find a true dark navy blue skirt. Fit is true to size and adjusts in the back. Great quality as usual and holds up well in the wash.

This skirt is perfect! The back allows adjustments so that it fits quiet nicely. I used this skirt in my high school classroom for a simulation that we were doing and the students thought that the skirt with the Gibson blouse was delightful and helped to "set the stage" in the classroom for an era that has gone by. I have since decided to purchase the skirt in black so that i will have more options for next year!

I found this to be true to size, with adjustable buttons in the waistband. A hidden pocket would have been an added bonus!

Excellent Walking Skirt
This is a beautiful skirt, with a gabardine-quality cotton, yet it does not crease and is easy to iron. At night the dark royal blue cotton takes on a lovely sheen, especially for photographs. It is easy to walk in, very smart, and I wore it with a wide, black velvet belt and a cream-lace, cotton, long-sleeved blouse (also from Historical Emporium). The whole outfit was lovely and I received compliments on the skirt, especially. If you are a size 4-6, and you purchase the 'small', it is a little big at the waist, so you may need to adjust it. The belt was neat and helped keep the skirt smaller at the waist. The XS size was unavailable but I had an event to attend and wanted to proceed. I would say the skirt runs a little bit bigger, so if you are a size 4, you definitely need XS, not S. A wonderful skirt, with nice features, and very elegant. Thank you.

Love it!
I love the way the back is made. The only thing wrong is the sizing isn't true to a XXL. I really wear an XL but buy XXL just in case it doesn't fit loosely. Well, this beautiful skirt isn't loose at all. I should have tried it on when I got it but didn't. I will be wearing it tomorrow or I would return for the next size up
