Opulent, elegant and a bit “ooh-la-la,” our Rose Bead Purse in Olive may be just the little luxury you’ve been scouring for in the vintage shops. Inspired by the dainty purses many 19th century ladies carried about, this bag is just as beautiful with today’s fashions as well.
Handbags, such as this show stopper, have an interesting back story in history. Centuries ago, women used to conceal removable “pockets” under voluminous skirts, but as fashion swung to the shapelier silhouette favored by Victorian and Edwardian women, purses became an accessory to “see” and be “seen” hanging from a belt or draped delicately over the wrist.
Our Rose Purse is absolutely stunning with beadwork, sequins and diamond-like stones embellishing an iridescent olive green satin pouch. Intricate, antiqued hardware decks out the clasp that also sparkles with two rhinestones set to resemble little rosebuds. Two removable chains are included -- a wrist-length chain with a 6½-inch drop and shoulder-length chain with a 20-inch drop.
Measures 9-inches in width and 7-inches from bottom to top of clasp. Imported.
