This is a very attractive and well made riding skirt with great detail. I think it would actually work well for riding!! Pay attention to the measurements; they were accurate but that meant that I ordered a much bigger size than I usually wear. It fit perfectly. This skirt hits me at the ankles and I am 5' 8". Great with regular cowboy boots or my custom lace up boots. This item has a high waist. Have a lint roller at the ready since the brushed material picks up animal hair.

I'll first admit, I do not regularly wear this era of clothing. The reason for this purchase was I was on the hunt for female-cut pants that had pre-attached buttons for suspenders. The cut is unique in my wardrobe and a first for me. Key notes if you've never worn similar pants: -these pants hit much higher on your leg that modern pants. I was worried at first that the pants themselves were too far up my waist until I paid attention to the photo on the site. Because of this, you have to be aware of shoe selections: my first wear had me in men's steel-toe boots that one could see my socks when I was walking. Standard shoe is now knee-high boots with these. -It's a slight learning curve to sit in. Although they are pants, they tend to act like a skirt and I found the legs bunching up to my knees. The "butt sweep" like one does in a long skirt will almost completely alleviate this. I had to default to ladylike sitting, which is a learning curve of itself. -This is twill. Twill has no stretch. NONE. I knew I would be wearing my modern-cut corsets under this, but found that the undergarment helps if any muffin-top may form. If you are not wearing a similar garment, perhaps an inch larger that your waist may be advised. This lack of give is also worth noting because you do have to tuck in shirts with these. -Everything on this is very well-made, and even the buttons are attached well. Because it is twill, it should iron well. Heavy enough fabric to block out...

Very high quality, fabric and workmanship. These pants are not only comfortable, but attractive. The fit is as described in the sizing chart.

I normally wear a size 10 but I ordered a size 14 in these pants given the measurements guide. I'm glad I ordered the larger size as it fits perfectly and if I had ordered my regular size 10, it would have been way to small. I like the buttons for attaching suspenders if desired and the large front pockets. Fabric is soft and comfortable.
